Somatic & Trauma-Informed Therapy in Illinois and Georgia

Jessica Jackson, LCPC offers somatic and trauma-informed therapy for adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, relationship challenges, identity exploration, and major life transitions.

Jessica’s practice centers BIPOC and queer clients seeking thoughtful, affirming care that recognizes the impact of systemic stress, racism, and cultural context on mental health.

​

Psychotherapy sessions are available via secure telehealth for clients located in Illinois and Georgia.

​

Jessica also offers private-pay somatic sessions for clients located anywhere. These sessions focus on nervous system awareness, regulation, and body-based healing practices.

​

Because psychotherapy licensing laws are location-based, insurance reimbursement and psychotherapy services are limited to clients physically located in Illinois or Georgia at the time of session.

Clients can expect a collaborative, nonjudgmental space where both your story and your nervous system are honored. Together, we’ll explore not only what’s on your mind, but what your body is holding, moving beyond insight alone into healing that’s felt and embodied.

Affirming Therapy for BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ Adults

Jessica specializes in supporting BIPOC and queer clients navigating the emotional and psychological impact of living within systems where racism, bias, homophobia, and transphobia are still present realities.

Therapy can offer a space to process these experiences while building tools for resilience, clarity, and self-trust.

​

While Jessica’s practice centers BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities, clients of all identities who value affirming and thoughtful care are welcome.

A Collaborative, Somatic Approach to Healing

​Many clients come to therapy already deeply self-aware, yet still feeling stuck in patterns of stress, overwhelm, or disconnection.

Through somatic therapy, the work often focuses on:

SOMATIC WALK-AND-TALK THERAPY

Walk-and-Talk Therapy in Alpharetta and Roswell

​

Jessica offers Somatic Walk-and-Talk Therapy for clients located in the Alpharetta and Roswell area (weather permitting).

​

These sessions combine nature, movement, and conversation, supporting nervous system regulation while allowing space for reflection and processing in a different environment than a traditional office.

​

Many clients find that being outdoors can help the body settle and make it easier to access thoughts, emotions, and insights.

Somatic Trauma Therapist in Illinois and Georgia

Jessica Jackson is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Illinois and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Georgia with more than 17 years of experience in counseling, social services, and advocacy work.

Her path into this work has been shaped by a long-standing commitment to supporting individuals and communities navigating trauma, systemic harm, and major life transitions.​

A Somatic and Trauma-Informed Approach to Therapy

Jessica’s work is collaborative, nonjudgmental, and grounded in respect for each client’s lived experience.

Rather than focusing only on thoughts and analysis, her work often includes attention to the nervous system and the body’s responses to stress and trauma.

Many clients come to therapy already deeply self-aware but still feeling stuck in recurring patterns of overwhelm, burnout, or emotional distress. Jessica’s goal is to help clients reconnect with their body’s wisdom and build tools for:

While Jessica’s work is grounded in evidence-informed clinical practice, she also honors these broader traditions and recognizes that healing can occur through many pathways.

She is also the host of the podcast Emboldened with Jessica, where she explores conversations about wellness, personal growth, and navigating life with curiosity and intention.

Jessica is known for her vibrant energy and unmistakable laugh—often described as startlingly loud and surprisingly contagious—which she believes is a reminder that healing can also include moments of joy, relief, and connection.

Education and Clinical Background

Jessica holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Illinois State University and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adams State University.

Her professional journey has included work across counseling, social services, and educational advocacy, shaping the integrative perspective she brings to her practice today.

What Therapy With Me Is Like

Therapy with me is meant to feel grounded, collaborative, and human.

​

I invite clients to show up exactly as they are. There is no expectation to be “done up,” polished, or performing in session. You are welcome to come in comfortable clothing, wrapped in a blanket, with a cup of tea or your favorite drink nearby.

​

For many people—especially those who have spent years navigating environments where they felt pressure to mask, code-switch, or carefully monitor how they present—therapy can become one of the few spaces where that armor can soften.

​

In our work together, you don’t need to filter your language or worry about how something might sound. You are welcome to speak openly, use your authentic voice, and bring whatever emotions, questions, or uncertainties are present that day.

​

My role is not to judge or correct you, but to walk alongside you with curiosity and care as we explore what is happening in your life and within your nervous system.

​

Sometimes our work may look like thoughtful conversation. Other times we may slow down and pay attention to what your body is communicating—patterns of tension, breath, or the ways your nervous system responds to stress.

​

This space is meant to be one where masks can come off, where your experiences are taken seriously, and where we can focus together on the meaningful work you want to do toward your therapy goals.

HOW DOES BILLING WORK?

If you are using insurance, your session rate will be determined by our contracted rate with your provider, and your out-of-pocket cost will depend on your specific insurance benefits. For ease, we partner with a third-party billing service called Headway that will assist you with any questions related to billing, insurance coverage, and copays.

​

For those without insurance or who prefer to pay out of pocket, we gladly accept debit and credit card payments. We also accept Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flex Spending Accounts.

​

Medicaid is unable to be accepted at this time.
