JESSICA JACKSON COUNSELING
Everyone is worthy and deserving of relief from anxiety, depression, grief, and past traumatic events. I challenge clients in sessions so that our time together is meaningful and focused on their goals for treatment. I prioritize creating a space that is judgment-free, safe, and where you can be fully heard, challenged, and validated.
I specialize in working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, job stress, self-esteem issues, family conflict, trauma, codependency, burnout, and life changes /transitions. I also specialize in working with clients who have experienced or are experiencing racism-based trauma, foster care, adoption, and relationship challenges.
If your goal is to have assistance with finding direction, focus on personal growth, and are wanting to elevate your life from okay to great, you might benefit from life coaching services.
I'm a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, TeleMental Health Certified, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Certified and I'm also Academic Coach Trainer Certified.
I encourage clients to bring their whole authentic selves to counseling as we partner on their goals together. My counseling approach is person-centered, somatic, culturally responsive, and LGBTQIA+ affirming. I have an anti-oppression lens that guides my work. I'm a licensed therapist in the state of Illinois and can only provide counseling to those living in Illinois.
I offer consulting workshops, and one on one coaching services. Are you wanting life coaching to propel you to the next level? Are you needing an accountability partner to help you frame and follow through on personal goals? One-on-one coaching might be right for you.

WHAT TO DO IF YOUR FRIEND HAS MAIN CHARACTER SYNDROME AND IT'S EXHAUSTING
July 19, 2021
“That’s so important, to listen to ourselves,” Jackson said. “Some of us have been quieting ourselves for such a long time that people are not listening to their intuition—all they hear is everyone else’s voice for them. Our internal voice shouldn’t sound like our parents or our friends.” - Jessica

Do you know someone who acts like they are the star of their own movie and you and their other friends are just supporting players?
This type of behavior has a new name: “Main Character Syndrome,” and it can overwhelm friends and loved ones. It’s not all bad, though. Some degree of self-loving behavior is positive.
In our Random Acts of Knowledge podcast we chat with counselor Jessica Jackson about finding the right balance of “Main Character Energy” to live a healthy life.
